Our facility has completed an arc flash study and we are trying to decide how to manage the HRC with respect to PPE requirements.
Background
Our facility has 20 electricians and we have voltages up to 13.8kv. We have Arc Flash warning stickers installed on switch gear (main and feeder breakers) and MCC's and so far that is it. We also have a lot of variable frequency drives (fractional HP to 75 HP) that are mounted on the walls in our electric rooms. Our larger vfd's are mounted inside an enclosure. We also have a lot of disconnects in the plant for our motors.
Questions
Since we are not using the tables (table 130.7(C)(9)), because we have performed a study, we plan to use the HRC from the arc flash study. Does this imply that I need to extend the arc flash study down to the variable speed drives and the field disconnects?
In effect, the only way to determine the PPE in our facility is to look at the arc flash warning label to determine the HRC?
Do any of you guys have a policy where you use the tables unless the flash warning label HRC exceeds the table value?
How are others handling this?

My understanding is that you follow the label on devices that have been studied. For the devices downstream of where the study stopped - use the tables. If no label, use the table (taking into account the footnotes).
My company is including all disconnects and industrial control panels in their study, so everything in the facility should have a label. If a panel or disconnect is later found to be without a label (missed during the study or added afterward), then the tables are used to determine PPE.
