Wondering if any of my esteemed colleagues here have run into the subject line company? They are selling something called PhaseBack, which acts as a surge suppressor and also claim to reduce arc flash (they claim an 85% reduction in arc flash potential).

Appreciate the feedback in advance...it frankly reminds of the snake oil salesman years ago w/ power factor correction products (our utility doesn't have PF penalties...so it didn't make sense for us, and our PF wasn't that low besides).

Mike

PS I can post more info if needed...I know about posting links to vendor websites.

Never heard of it. Looked it up. Extremely skeptical.

- Harmonic filter
- Voltage imbalance corrector
- Surge suppressor /lightning arrestor
- Arc flash energy eliminator
- Ground fault preventer
- Works from 5 VDC up to 230,000 VAC

One of our clients requires these devices at all of their facilities. It looks like 3 small transformers and a resistor in a box. I don't understand how it's supposed to work. It does not seem to have an NRTL listing.

I watched one of the videos from the company. Smells fishy to me. First thing they show is a motor running with weird voltages to ground. Based on what they said, his thing can do everything. That includes resort hair loss for us bald guys, make me hansom and thinner as well as attractive to everyone. What about bad breath and can it mow the lawn? That would be a boon to mankind! Seriously, I don't see how it works and the claims seem extreme at best.
