Many of our Switchboards have multiple perforations in the doors. Would this be considered the same as having the doors open |

From an arc flash view, yes. From a shock hazard view, no. |

Manufactured perforations in doors We just had arc flash training on Saturday. Our instructor said that as long as the holes were installed by the manufacturer that we could use the tables for "Doors Closed". I disagree. As Zog stated. You can't touch something and get shocked but you are at an increased Arc flash hazard due to the perforations. I am going through the manufacturers literature to see if there is anything specific about the issue but it is doubtfull. |

What is the difference between a hole made by the OEM and a hole made by someone else? Just would like to know the instructors thinking behind that one. |
