Hi All,
I am new on this forum, I hope to be of assistance and to be assisted by this forum. I am into protective technical textiles for Arc Flash and other thermal hazards faced by workers. I have some really innovative solutions from 9,7 cal/cm2 to 67cal/cm2.
I would like to ask the question:-
What would the ideal arc flash protective suit be?

None...they are all hot, cumbersome, restrictive, and over all uncomfortable.

I'm sure that persons who have been through an AF incident, without PPE, would disagree. There is nothing more uncomfortable than being a patient in a burn center.

My comment was simply an answer to Riaz’s question as to the “ideal PPE”… In an ideal world we would not need PPE, but we all know this is not the case. In my opinion, PPE should be the last line of defense (not the first) and it should be kept to a minimum through engineering design, system modifications, protection schemes, work practices, remote racking, etc.

That is how I interpreted SCE's comment, but after re-reading I can see how that could have come off wrong. PPE sucks, but burn centers suck waaaaaayy more.

Arc flash Suit
Hi Guyz,
I spend my life trying to find solutions that make Arc Flash Protection fabrics comfortable and highly protective. I have just innovated a fabric with a combination of aramid fibers like NOMEX AND KEVLAR, with a construction method that traps air in between for that extra insulation. I was amazed, when tested it yields 43 cals/cm2 with 2 layers of 220g/m2 each. and it is comfortable and absorbs perspiration spreads it and drying is really fast making it very weather resistant. Anyone need some???

I can suggest you great protective suits which will protect you from arc, flash, fire, spark etc. They are made of great material extremely comfortable and protective. flameresistantcoveralls.com produces great flame resistant coveralls.
