Hello! I am testing some calculations in ArcPro and IEEE1584. I use the following inputs in ArcPro: Voltage: 11kV Current: 13.3kA distance: 90cm Arc gap: 15cm duration: 0.25s type: Enclosed, three phase In ArcPro this gives an incident energy at working distance at 6.2 cal/cm2 and a Arc Flash Boundary at 205 cm. Comparing this with a calculation in IEEE1584 2012 (not the 2018 version) I get about the same energy 5.6 cal/cm2 but the Arc Flash Boundary 403 cm. Very greatful for comments! |

Does ArcPro use different bus configurations (horizontal, vertical, open air, etc.)? Why not compare to IEEE-1548 2018? ..... out with the old and in with the new!! I assume ArcPro is using the 2018 method, not 2012 |

Still it is strange that the energy is quite much the same but very different distance. Any other comments on this? |

IEEE 1584 equations are empirically derived - conduct many tests, record data, develop equations. ArcPro does not use the IEEE 1584 2002 or 2018 model. It is independent and from what I understand, ArcPro is a physics based model and I believe it was created quite some time ago. ArcPro is generally used above 15 kV mostly because no other models exist. IEEE 1584 is for use below 15kV. |

Arcpro doesn't use IEEE, and only the latest version considers electrode orientation.
