[SIZE=3]2015 NFPA 70E Proposals Development - Group Effort[/size]

[SIZE=3]Many requests have been made to use the Arc Flash Forum as a place to develop proposals (now called public input) for the 2015 edition of NFPA 70E. Many forum members have great ideas for improving this important standard but are not in a position to make a formal submittal to NFPA.[/size]

[SIZE=3]This area will be used to collectively develop public input (proposals) for the 2015 Edition. If you have a specific section in the 2012 Edition that you feel needs changed, please begin a new thread for each change/suggestion.[/size]

[SIZE=3]Each proposal must have its own thread.[/size]
[SIZE=3]Each thread will be where a proposed change is discussed and debate[/size]
[SIZE=3]Proposed text, rational for the change / addition / deletion, supporting data, substantiation should be discussed since this is part of the public input form from NFPA[/size]
[SIZE=3]Ultimately we should have new / revised text for the proposal[/size]
[SIZE=3]To determine which proposals are submitted from the forum, a vote will be taken among all members towards the end of May based on the groups proposals.[/size]

[SIZE=3]Proposals that receive significant support from Arc Flash Forum members will be submitted to NFPA prior to the June 22, 2012 deadline.[/size]

[SIZE=3]A small group did this on a limited scale for the 2012 Edition with some success. Opening this up to all with an interest in electrical safety will hopefully help the continued improvement of the next edition.[/size]

Opening this up to all with an interest in electrical safety will hopefully help the continued improvement of the next edition.[/size] Jim, I may be a little late in getting in on this, but your post shows a posting date of Apr 22, 2012, with a deadline of June22, 2012, for the NFPA 70E 2015 Edition. Are these dates correct? They are nearly two years in the past.

Yes, the June 22 NFPA deadline is correct. Since NFPA 70E is on a 3 year revision cycle, the call for proposals (public input) comes early in the cycle. There is a lot of work that happens after the close and the 2015 edition is almost ready for release later this year. And then.... the whole process begins again.

It wasn't the June 22 date I was questioning as much as it was the 2012 year I was questioning.
