Post subject:  Arc Flash Analysis Grants

I work for a small municipality in eastern NC and we are trying to become compliant with Arc Flash. Is there anywhere that I can look to find grants to help defer the cost of an Arc Flash Analysis. We are plugging along and are going to use the tables but we need to have a study done so we can be more in compliance. People are quoting us 20-30K and I was just looking to explore my options. If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Not sure about the study, but a few states have grants/aid available for employee training.

Are you talking NEC or NESC compliance? It makes a huge difference.

I am new to this, but I am pretty sure it is NEC.

When you said you are with a municipality, does that mean a municipal electric power company or that you are with the municipality as in city or town?

If you are with a municipal power company, you would be under the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), otherwise it would be the National Electric Code (NEC).

Okay, back to your original question about grants. Since you are a municipality there may be something available from a municipal association or something like that.
