| Post subject: | Arc Flash Study Training |
I am looking for training on Arc Flash Studies. There are a lot of places that offer 70e training, but I am looking for something more technical in a course that educates someone in performing the study. I have not been able to find one that really goes into the "nut and bolts" of it. Does anyone here know of one? |

I teach a class on performing the actual study. [url='http://www.brainfiller.com/customers/Course-Information.aspx']Next scheduled class is Scottsdale, AZ December 3 and 4th[/url]. Day one is about time current curves, short circuit calculations, labels etc. with a little bit of NFPA 70E only to see what the requirements are, day 2 is all about modeling, calculations, 2 second rule, 125 kVA rule, data, analysis etc. A pretty intense class from what people say. |

Thanks for the information. Looks like I've been approved to take this class by my company, and I should be attending. What materials comes with the class? Is there are a DVD of the lecture, in case there is something I need review if my memory gets rusty? |

The book that is shown in the sponsor section "Complete Guide to Arc Flash Calculation Studies" is also provided which contains most everything I discuss and then some. I took my first 70E class from Jim Phillips. The class is top notch and very informative. I then had Jim come to our plant site and teach 70E to our maintenance techicians. |

The project/process managment and documentation aspect is worse than the technical side. If you have geographically disperse facilities and/or multiple engineers involved it's worth significant planning time or you'll end up creating a monster. Don't ask me how I know... |
