As I recall, SKM used to have instructions on how to model a single phase transformer as a three phase transformer so when running a three phase short circuit study it would return the correct short circuit current without upgrading to the single phase/unbalanced module. There was a formula to "adjust" the parameters of a standard three phase transformer. I couldn't find it the help section of the current version and nobody at SKM tech support is old enough to remember this. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

I have a paper from EasyPower that explains how to model a single phase transformer on a 3 phase model (which EasyPower is). I would think it would be very similar for SKM.

This is from a Q&A posted on the PTW website.

In PTW, you can run a unbalanced short circuit study using the Unbalanced module.

Then enter the SLG fault current or using the 3P fault from UBSC results to the AF screen. PTW automatically unlinks the SC and link TCC. You can enter the adjusted fault current based on the UBSC results and Arc Flash program reads the trip time automatically. The results will be conservative, but having an answer is better than having no answer at all.

In the ArcFlash drop down menu check "Include Non-3-Phase Systems".
