Howdy,
We have replaced all our old multimeters with CAT III rated ones. Here's the question. Do we need to replace all the older power quality analyzers, harmonic detectors, oscilloscopes, etc. that have no rating at all? I say we should, but there is some resistance to doing this for cost reasons, which I fully understand, but also understand the risks in not replacing them. Any thoughts?

Meters
Where are you using the meters and other equipment? What type of apparatus/gear are you testing? The categories are based on the potential overvoltage that they could be subjected to.

They would be used in the sub stations, 480vac side, to monitor power quality , harmonics, etc.
