Does NFPA 70E cover a self propelled electric crane used to load and unload rail cars? This crane has a diesel engine that turns a 300 kva generator used to charge batteries all located on the crane.

NFPA 70E covers Electrical Safe Work Practices. It is about keeping employees safe when working around energized parts and is not limited by type of equipment. While NFPA 70E is perhaps the most common standard some industries, like mining and electric utilities, use other accepted standards.
