Just a quick one what requirnments are there for PPE while using HV IR testers.
Are rated gloves mandotory and are the energy rating of these likeley to cause a fatal shock? or just give you one hell of a zap.

IR scanning won't tell you squat on HV systems (>69,000V).

IR scanning (Or any energized work) requires the worker to be "Qualified" per the NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements, knowing what PPE to wear is part of that requirement.

Gloves are requires for shock protection inside the RAB

The 70E tables have PPE requirements for IR scanning for LV and MV systems, but the tables don't apply to HV systems, the top end is 38kV.
