Post subject:  SKM Question

Hi there,
We got an SKM model from the client that has hundreds of buses not connected, abandoned in the model. At the same time these buses name is very similar to other buses in the system that we are going to use in our study.
Is there an easy way to identify these "ghost" buses and get rid of them, something like a purge function?

Thanks,
Alex

It would be a little unusual to have that many busses not connected. Are you sure? Can you expand any of them or see if they really aren't connected to anything in the component editor?

I would make sure of that first.

I would also think attempting a short circuit calc would fatal error out with unconnected busses so if it runs they must be connected, it just looks like they aren't in the one-line because they aren't expanded.

If they really aren't I don't know of a way to destroy them all at once but I don't know everything either. I'd have to destroy them one at a time or select groups of them to destroy together. Go to find not in oneline and destroy those too.

I looked at this a bit this morning.

You can right click anywhere in the one-line then do a Query on unconnected components and Run. It selects all the unconnected components that way. Right click again and destroy. That will destroy them all in a oneline. If your model has multiple onelines then you repeat for all oneline drawings.

I've seen this before from previous studies. The times I encountered it the buses existed only in the project database and not in any onelines. I used "Find" > "Find not in one-line" to seek and destroy.
