Most of equipments in the system may not need calculation so that we don't have detail information regarding IE level, boundaries and PPE. What kind of general labels you guys provide for these equipments? Any sample? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest modeling the equipment just as other equipment in your model so you do have available fault current and voltage data. If the equipment is not considered in the IEEE 1584, you can assume a PPE category (this is how I understand "not considered"). This is often the minimum required by the facility such as a PPE 2 for all maintenance employees. You can get the boundaries from NFPA 70-E table 130.2(C). This will most likely be 4ft for equipment not considered in 1584.

So can you use a generic label for all equipment that is less than 240V and fed by a xfmr that is less than 125KVA? Something Like this:

4FT -Flash Hazard Boundry
Category 0
120VAC - Shock Hazard
Class 00 gloves
3'6" - Limited approach
Avoid Contact - Restricted Approach
Avoid Contact - Prohibited Approach

I do my 208/120 panel boards this way. Does not mean it's right. Just my way of doing it.

I am new so I can will quickly put in the test that would appear on a ANSI AF Warning Label.

What do they wear?

Based on this method of labeling, what do they wear or what is considered the appropriate PPE?

Viper, Good question. You could not read my mind, huh.

My company has a policy of qualified workers wearing the 8 cal FR clothing that we rent. So for us that is beyond the basic PPE requirement. I would encourgage the use of ER face shields and hard hats including shock protection as normal when working live in 208v panelboards.

I would encourage anyone working live wear the FR clothing no matter what the IE is. The 208v along with other non-regulated matters is normally a company risk issue on how to safely work on equipment.

Along with the lable comes the training that would include this area of understanding.

Sorry this took so long to get back but hope that helps clear up the 208 PPE.
