There is no standard size. As Mike said, 4 inches by 6 inches is commonly used. |

Hello, my plant's labels are all around 5-1/4" x 4" |

I typically use 4" x 6". However, these won't fit on some of the smaller disconnects. In that case, I use a 2 1/4" x 3" label. |

What really matters is that the label font is large enough to be read, and that the labels are put on the device where they are easy to see. |

Hello Nerf, as per the others the 4" x 6" is very common. However you have to remember that there is allot of us baby boomers out there in which our eyesite is challenged. Take a look at your work force and see what the average age is of the workers who would be referencing the labels and make your decision from there. I hope that this helps |

I use 4"x4" with the minimum info - bigger labels may not fit on small equipment |

I know this is an ancient thread but for future reference ANSI Z535.4 has a table of recommended letter heights vs viewing distance. |
