When labeling non arc rated MCCs, we:
Use labels based on a device upstream from the MCC 33%  33%  [ 14 ]
Use 2 labels, feeder label based on the main, main label based on a device upstream from the MCC 40%  40%  [ 17 ]
It depends on the situation 28%  28%  [ 12 ]

This week's question regarding motor control centers was brought up at an IEEE 1584 meeting earlier this year.

When labeling non arc rated motor control centers, we :

  • Label based on a protective device upstream from the MCC
  • Use 1 label for feeders based on the main and 1 for the main based on an upstream device
  • It depends on the MCC design
