The 2012 Edition of NFPA 70E added the five words "the content of the training" to the training documentation requirements as shown below: 110.2 (E) Training Documentation The documentation shall contain the content of the training, each employee’s name and dates of training. Do you include the content of training in your documentation?

Clarification: I believe the 70E parapgraph is 110.2(E). Also "content" is somewhat vague. The informational note helps; "Employment records that indicate that an employee has received the required training are an acceptable means of meeting this requirement". My company's training records include the company's course name and course number along with date and employee name. If more is intended, I welcome some feedback. |

Yes you are correct about 110.2 - I guess that is what I get for posting this quickly from an airport waiting for a flight. I corrected it - Thanks! As far as the informational note, you hit upon exactly what I was trying to "stir up". "the content of training" is the only new text added to this article and it looks like the footnote was never changed to reflect this. My way of thinking is "content documentation" is not simply indicating in an employees record that they received training. What our clients have been including is the agenda so they know the topics that were covered. Great feedback! Do any others want to join in on this one? |

So including the agenda will suffice to meet this requirement? |

We keep one copy of the agenda and course material in a master file and then reference everyone that attends the class. Actually we do this for all training and have been doing this long before NFPA 70E made it a requirement. |
