I am interested to know if there is a standard amount of time to use for arc duration when taking consideration worker extraction.

I have heard the time 2 seconds in the past. I would love to get your thoughts.

The two methods that are used for the arc flash duration are the clearing time of an upstream protective device or a 2 second cut off if it is feasible for a person to escape/jump back. There isn't anything regarding extraction time.

I have seen the discussion about the 2 second rule. However, if your workplace population is older and working on the bottom unit of an MCC you might be sitting on the floor, I suspect there are some people who will not have significantly moved in the two seconds. If the hazard is large because a breaker isn't tripping in the two seconds, you might want to look at the settings and sizing and see if you can lower the hazard.
