This week’s Question of the Week is about illumination of the work space. Specifically: NFPA 70E 130.6 (C) Illumination (1) General states Employees shall not enter spaces where electrical hazards exist unless illumination is provided that enables the employees to perform the work safely. Here is this week’s question: Have you/co-workers ever had to perform energized work with less than ideal illumination? Yes No Not applicable Rather not say |

Not recently, but 40 years ago portable lighting was not always as accessible as it is nowadays. As a 'youngster' I was typically charged with being the flashlight holder. |

Generally, we never plan for enough portable lighting when the power goes out. My advice is to always plan for more than you think you need. |
