IEEE 1584 is valid for three phase arc flash calculations only.
This week’s question is about a need for a single-phase model/equations.

Would you use an IEEE single phase arc flash equations/model?

I voted "not sure" We could use it but sometimes have difficulty covering all 208 volt so moving further into single phase would be quite an undertaking.

For electric utility Arc-Flash Analysis, I use ArcPro for single-phase analysis per OSHA 1910.269, Appendix D, Table 3, and only use the IEEE 1584 method for three-phase open-air and enclosed studies less than 15 kV.

That said, it would be "nice" to have one approach to studies.

You may consider the model described at http://arcadvisor.com/faq/single-phase-arc It has been implemented in ARCMASTER V1.0 software program for arc flash hazard analysis and labeling you can google online.
