The pandemic lead to travel restrictions for many companies. Some companies have fully resumed normal travel, some have restrictions such as only permitting essential travel and some companies have a complete ban in place. Attendance at many conferences have been negatively impacted. At my workplace, travel is restricted to essential trips only. Virtual meetings still handle most day-to-day collaboration, while in-person travel is reserved for projects where being on-site really matters. Whenever someone does travel, there is much more attention paid to safety, contingency planning, and insurance than before the pandemic. I think this more cautious approach is likely to remain part of business travel for the foreseeable future. |
