EasyPower (software manufacturer) puts out a very nice FREE Practical Solution Guide to Arc Flash Hazards you just need to go to their site and request a copy. This is a decent starting point anyway. If you don't already have these standards, you will need them. The IEEE 1584 Guide to Performing Arc-Flash Hazard Calculations and the NFPA-70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. |

"How to Perform a Detailed Arc-Flash Study" By Jim Phillips, who sponsors this site. I have a copy on pre-order on Amazon.com This book has been a very long time in development. I completed the draft a year ago and it went through quite a review process including NFPA which really slowed it down. It is now finally in print layout and should finally be available in the next couple of months. It topped out around 300 pages or so. |

I'm looking forward to the release. Please consider a Kindle version. |

Found it. See attached screenshot. Amazon has it listed with the title "Complete Guide to Arc Flash Calculation Studies" by James Phillips even though the picture of the book has the title "How to Perform a Detailed Arc Flash Study" by Jim Phillips.

Jim - I have your book "How to Perform a Detailed Arc Flash Study" on pre-order with Amazon as well. They list a publication date as November 2010. Is there a problem or can we expect this book soon? |

What timing for your question. The draft was done quite some time ago. However, the publishing process took a bit longer than anticipated. The book is about to go though the final review process now and will be going to print in a few weeks. It will be available shortly after that. It ended up being much larger than I expected pushing 300 pages with lots and lots of calculations, explanations of “questionable” areas of the calculation process, assumptions, worksheets, etc. The book’s title is actually “Complete Guide to Arc Flash Calculation Studies”. The other title was just the working title during the development process. Stay tuned, you will all be the first to know! |

You may want to check them out at http://etap.com/support/faqs-tutorials-topic.htm#arcflashanalysis. Lots of very good information and step-by-step instructions of arch flash studies on there. |

Book - Complete Guide to Arc Flash Calculation Studies AB P.E. wrote: I can no longer see the book listed on Amazon. Where can I order the book? Also looked at NEC site, did not see it there. Puzzled! What happened was the original publisher (not who I ended up with) jumped the gun and began promoting the book long before it was to be completed. That is what you previously saw on Amazon and what started the discussion here. This book will be available on Amazon in the next day or two. The book "Complete Guide to Arc Flash Hazard Calculation Studies" is available at the website: brainfiller.com A preview of the Table of Contents and a few pages are at: Preview Here Title: Complete Guide to Arc Flash Hazard Calculation Studies ISBN: 9780615486918 Library of Congress Number: 2011912689 |
