OK, Either I am searching for the wrong terms Or there really have not been any posts regarding this topic. Looking to perform a DC arc flash calculation for someone using Annex D in the 2012 70E but I don't find any mention about the arc flash boundary. I am thinking that I could use the IE to back calculate the equivalent boundary but am not sure. Any comments or guidance would be great.
The definition of the AFB is where the IE is 5 J/cm^2 for systems 50 V and greater (see 130.5(A)). So yes, you can backcalculate it. The same is done in D.7.5, except the equation is explicit.
