I received an email from Lewellyn Technology inviting me to attend a free arc flash webinar. I am always willing to learn from anybody, especially if the source is a respectable and well know company. So I decided to join. I cancelled some previous commitments and reserved the time in my schedule. Especially because the seminar is in San Antonio, TX. I am actively involve in performing arc flash studies. I also I deliver many seminars in arc flash engineering procedures and methodologies. I am very glad to share all what I know with other people or companies in the same field of work I deal with. I do not care if it is a competitor or not. I guess, not everybody has the same idea. Once Lewellyn Techologies found out that I was a direct competitor, they sent me another email apologizing for the error of inviting me and politely forbit me to attend the seminar. I will accommodate their request not to show up. I respect their decision, we are living in a free country. But I do not agree with it. This experience taught me a lesson. I am not doing enough to help other engineers in whatever I can (little or much). I will get more involved with this fantastic forum where everybody is sharing their knowledge and experience (no matter if they are competitors or not) unselfishly. Thanks. |

I received the same email. I thought it was a bit odd to uninvite someone, especially after a good amount of time had passed. Also, it was shortsighted, given the fact that I've referenced them in many of my suggestions and recommendations. Alas, I've been refused admittance to another establishment. It wasn't the first and maybe not the last |
