Hi all, I received a task to convert a ETAP project file to SKM. I am wondering I should use the operating contribution or SC value. My thinking is I should use the SC value, am I right?

Not sure how to answer your question but if your etap model is large I would send it to SKM and let them convert it for you if they can. I have faced this situation twice. The first time was a decent size model, 800+ busses. They were able to convert it no problem. When you get it back it won't have any drawings but the model will be in there. You have to start a new drawing with an existing component and expanded it all out and clean it up as you go. The second time was a very small model. Maybe like 30 busses or something. SKM couldn't convert it for some reason. I spent more time sending them various etap files trying to help them to convert than it would have taken me just to re-draw it in SKM to begin with. They never were able to convert it. Never figured out why. That first model conversion though saved me several days of work vs. recreating the model in SKM plus it probably eliminated some data entry errors. https://www.skm.com/convert.html |

Ground MVA in SKM is VLN*I, in ETap is is VLL*I*3^.5, but ETap displays both methods of entering ground. The trick is to show the ground amps, amps is amps, make sure that both programs show the same amp value. |
