Does anyone have any experience in using a 40 cal long coat, (mid calf length), flash hood, and leggings, in place of a 40 cal suit with the standard bibs or pants? It seems to me that with the long coat you could end up with a situation whereas the coat may "ride up' on your leg and possibly expose the knee and lower thigh area. |

Long coat arc flash suit designs are a significant protection concern. Please refer to the attached document for additional information.

Don't use this, I have been completed detailed electrical safety audits and electrical workers are not aware of the performance limitations related to work when you bend down, yes the velcro rips completely open. This style would only be accepteable for standing work only. That said when you walk it in an depending on your stride you rip the leg area open. Also the worker may be complacent in putting on the shin covers, we need to eliminate human error even in the use of the PPE. Regards; Terry Becker, P.Eng.
