| Post subject: | PPE for Dust Facility |
Recently at the company I work for we had completed an Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and training. I will try to help out whenever I can on Arc Flash as it can be tricky. I do have a general question for the people in this forum. I work for a company that manufacturers toner. So the atmosphere is dusty but not overly dusty. Right now the employees wear polyester clothing when working in the plant. I was wondering what other companies are doing for PPE as a BMP in dusty atmospheres. Do you think polyester is fine for this atmosphere or are companies using all long sleeve cotton clothing for the atmosphere. Thank You, AJ |

OSHA strictly disalows meltable fabrics like polyester when a worker is potentially exposed to arc flash hazards. Been that way since 1994. |
