what are the differences between the two? I think one material is lighter than the other but is that the only difference? Joe |

Indura is a chemically treated FR cotton fabric that is long lasting , feels like normal cotton clothing and has about 80% of the market share, good stuff for the money. Protera is an inherantly FR fabric with better resistance to chemicals and wear, cost a little more, feels a little more like PPE (Scratchy) but is very good for certian environments. All depends on your needs. |

Indura is the better value for the money, but only if working temperatures are not a consideration. Like stated Indura is thick treated cotton, soft and comfortable, expect on hot days. Protera is a a combination of Nomex and Cotton 83/17% (I think) but is inheriently FR, so a Level 2 Coverall is much lighter in fabric weight than the Indura. I have both. I prefer the Indura in winter and the Protera in summer. |
