Post subject:  Indura vs Protera

what are the differences between the two? I think one material is lighter than the other but is that the only difference?

Indura is a chemically treated FR cotton fabric that is long lasting , feels like normal cotton clothing and has about 80% of the market share, good stuff for the money.

Protera is an inherantly FR fabric with better resistance to chemicals and wear, cost a little more, feels a little more like PPE (Scratchy) but is very good for certian environments.

All depends on your needs.

Indura is the better value for the money, but only if working temperatures are not a consideration. Like stated Indura is thick treated cotton, soft and comfortable, expect on hot days. Protera is a a combination of Nomex and Cotton 83/17% (I think) but is inheriently FR, so a Level 2 Coverall is much lighter in fabric weight than the Indura. I have both. I prefer the Indura in winter and the Protera in summer.
