For HRC-2 is it acceptable to use 8cal/cm2 bib overall and an 8cal/cm2 long sleeve shirt? Not sure if bib overall and shirt are an acceptable combination since it is not shown in NFPA 70E 2009. Thanks |

While ratings are not necessarily additive, I think we could say 8+8= more than 8. |

Not sure if bib overall and shirt are an acceptable combination since it is not shown in NFPA 70E 2009. Thanks As long as the entire body has 8 cal coverage I would say yes. |

I have been in the FR clothing industry for 10 years. I have not seen that combo much for level 2 protection but it would work. I think one reason I haven't seen a bib and shirt for 70E application before is because most bibs have metal buckles on the straps. I do know you can find them with melamine buckles now. Let me know if you need help, http://www.70earcprotection.com. |

Thanks for all the info. I was not sure this combination would be ok since bib overalls are normally loose fitting and hot material may have a chance get into bibs. |

As long as you have full body protection it's okay. If wearing a shirt and bib overall that would give you the full body as long as you had the head and face protection. http://www.coverallsale.com/wh-salisbury.htm |

Not sure if bib overall and shirt are an acceptable combination since it is not shown in NFPA 70E 2009. Thanks Any reason you chose to wear the long sleeve shirt with the bib-overalls instead of the 8 cal/cm2 Coveralls? |
