I think that I spelled that right. Does anyone know of anything in the standard that covers hearing aides. I know all categories now call for hearing protection but what if a worker is wearing a hearing aide. any thoughts?
True!! But I am wondering if there is any reason to take it out. Is there any standard the would tell the physical characteristics of the hearing protection.....ie..will it melt to the skin. Do they make an FR or non melting hearing protection. Just wondering.

Since hearing protection is required for almost all PPE levels, a worker who routinely wears a hearing aid, should remove it before beginning work. The argument of whether or not hearing protection helps or hurts is another debate. But if you are trying to follow current thinking, then its appropriate to protect against high db levels associated with the arc blast.
