Arc flash (equipment) labels and data have been discussed in the past but practices evolve over time.

The 2021 Edition of NFPA 70E has minimum requirements for labels which includes:

(1) Nominal System Voltage 130.1(H)(1)
(2) Arc Flash Boundary 130.1(H)(2)
(3) At least one of the following:
a. Available incident energy and the corresponding working distance OR the arc flash PPE category
b. Minimum arc rating of clothing
c. Site-specific level of PPE

Here are a couple of references regarding labeling:

To gauge the evolution of labeling, this week’s question is a follow up to a similar question asked quite some time ago.

What are your/company preferences for arc flash labels?

• Nominal Voltage
• Arc Flash Boundary
• Incident Energy and Working distance
• Arc Flash PPE Category
• Minimum arc rating of clothing
• Site specific PPE level
• Limited and Restricted approach boundary
• Date
• List of PPE requirements

We also include the following items:

1. Our company name.
2. Our company phone number.
3. Our Job #. (this is helpful for when we do a AF refresh study after 5 years.)
4. Maximum available fault current.
5. Standard Version used to calculate the AF energy and boundaries.

I would add that Robert's example above also contains an ANSI signal word and symbol.

Having the maximum available fault current is a huge plus. I think by adding that number people will gain a much better appreciation of what arc flash energy is all about. Strangely, too many people order gear without even knowing what the available fault current even is.
