Hi All,
I am new to the Arc Flash Forum. Some questions have come up where I work and I have been searching the CSA Z462 standard for the answer with no avail. (CSA Z462 is basically the same doc as NFPA 70E...so referencing either document will work). Hopefully someone out there can help me out.
1. When working in a pannel, if there is an ignition transformer that has 120V in and 6000V out, do we need PPE for the 6000V? Does the low amperage play any effect in the selection of PPE?
2. We are a HVAC service company. If the locations we are working at do not have labels on equipment how should we go forward? Many places do not have labels on the rooftop units. Who is responsible?
3. If we need to be wearing a fall arrest harness and also be checking voltages, are there any special requirements due to the metal on the harness?
4. Industrial health typically says not to wear any jewellery etc. What about belts (in which most have some steel on them).
Thanks for your help!
Brent
