Pruebe un enfoque iterativo.<\/h2>\n<p>Los datos de cortocircuito disponibles (corriente de falla) de la empresa de suministro el\u00e9ctrico u otra fuente son una variable muy importante al realizar un estudio de arco el\u00e9ctrico. La magnitud de la corriente de falla afecta la energ\u00eda incidente por unidad de tiempo y, en \u00faltima instancia, puede afectar la forma en que responde un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente aguas arriba. En general, cuanto mayor sea la corriente de falla, m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido se disparar\u00e1 el dispositivo. Cuanto menor sea la corriente de falla, bueno, ya se hace una idea, m\u00e1s lento puede dispararse.<\/p>\n<p>Una parte muy cr\u00edtica de todo esto es qu\u00e9 magnitud de corriente se necesita para que el dispositivo de sobrecorriente se dispare instant\u00e1neamente. Instant\u00e1neo en el mundo de la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica significa \u201csin demora intencional\u201d, aunque habr\u00e1 una peque\u00f1a demora debido a la apertura de los contactos y la extinci\u00f3n del arco. Esta \u201cdemora\u201d suele ser de solo unos pocos ciclos el\u00e9ctricos. Si un dispositivo se dispara instant\u00e1neamente, eso significa que la duraci\u00f3n del arco estar\u00eda limitada a unos pocos ciclos. Sin embargo, si la magnitud de la corriente de falla cae por debajo de la funci\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea del dispositivo, el dispositivo entrar\u00e1 en la regi\u00f3n de demora temporal, lo que es malo para un arco el\u00e9ctrico porque la duraci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 mucho mayor, lo que dar\u00e1 lugar a una mayor energ\u00eda incidente calculada.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que la corriente de falla es tan importante, \u00bfqu\u00e9 sucede si estos datos no est\u00e1n disponibles, no son confiables o est\u00e1n sujetos a cambios? No es inusual contactar a la compa\u00f1\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica para obtener la corriente de falla disponible de su sistema y obtener una respuesta como: 50,000 amperios, 20,000 amperios o alg\u00fan otro &quot;n\u00famero redondo&quot;, o nada en absoluto. Si la respuesta termina con muchos ceros, es hora de rascarse la cabeza. \u00bfEs realmente ese valor? Probablemente no. Adem\u00e1s, la corriente de falla puede cambiar dependiendo de la configuraci\u00f3n de la compa\u00f1\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica en un momento dado. \u00bfQu\u00e9 sucede si un transformador o una l\u00ednea se desconectan? La corriente de falla ser\u00e1 menor. No hay respuestas perfectas para estos problemas, pero aqu\u00ed hay una soluci\u00f3n alternativa que he estado defendiendo durante a\u00f1os. Es un enfoque iterativo.<\/p>\n<p>Se comienza con el c\u00e1lculo de la corriente de falla m\u00e1xima de un cortocircuito de barra infinita. Muchos dir\u00e1n que un enfoque de fuente infinita NO es el peor de los casos. Eso es INCORRECTO. La respuesta correcta es que el enfoque de barra infinita PUEDE NO ser el peor de los casos. Pero podr\u00eda ser el peor de los casos si la duraci\u00f3n del arco no cambia.<\/p>\n<p>Como ejemplo, supongamos que el servicio est\u00e1 en el secundario de 480 voltios de un transformador 5.75% de 1500 kVA. Si se utiliza un c\u00e1lculo de barra infinita, la corriente de falla calculada en el secundario ser\u00eda de 31 374 amperios. Comience con ese valor y ejecute el estudio de arco el\u00e9ctrico. Observe todas las ubicaciones donde la clasificaci\u00f3n de arco preferida es suficiente, es decir, si 8 cal\/cm<sup>2<\/sup> se debe utilizar, tenga en cuenta todas las ubicaciones donde funciona esa clasificaci\u00f3n de arco.<\/p>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, reduzca la corriente de falla de 31 374 amperios en incrementos de 5 o 101 TP3T. Vuelva a ejecutar el estudio. Probablemente ver\u00e1 que la energ\u00eda incidente disminuye en las distintas ubicaciones. Reduzca la corriente de falla una y otra vez...<\/p>\n<p>En alg\u00fan momento, despu\u00e9s de una reducci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s, notar\u00e1 que la energ\u00eda incidente aumenta dr\u00e1sticamente. Esto significa que la corriente de falla de la fuente ahora es demasiado baja, lo que hace que los dispositivos de sobrecorriente se disparen en la regi\u00f3n de retardo de tiempo.
