Cuanto mayor sea la duraci\u00f3n, mayor ser\u00e1 la exposici\u00f3n a la energ\u00eda incidente, que es directamente proporcional a la duraci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>La edici\u00f3n 2018 de IEEE 1584 define la <strong>duraci\u00f3n del arco<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n conocido como <strong>tiempo de limpieza<\/strong> como:<\/p><p><em>El tiempo total entre el comienzo de una sobrecorriente especificada y la interrupci\u00f3n final de la <\/em><em>circuito a tensi\u00f3n nominal.<\/em><\/p><p>Tambi\u00e9n se hace referencia al t\u00e9rmino tiempo de despeje porque la duraci\u00f3n del arco normalmente se basa en cu\u00e1nto tiempo tarda un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente aguas arriba en interrumpir y despejar la corriente de falla del arco. Un concepto bastante simple, excepto que \u00bfc\u00f3mo se determina qu\u00e9 dispositivo es probable que interrumpa y c\u00f3mo se determina la duraci\u00f3n real?\u00a0<\/p><h2><strong>Determinar qu\u00e9 dispositivo<\/strong><\/h2><p>Cuando la corriente de arco de un arco el\u00e9ctrico salta a trav\u00e9s de un espacio de aire, se produce un plasma conductor que podr\u00eda envolver a otros conductores y escalar, as\u00ed como propagarse a otras ubicaciones. Si el plasma se propaga al lado de la l\u00ednea del dispositivo principal, como el principal en el panel PP-1 que se muestra en la Figura 1, incluso si el principal se dispara, es posible que el arco el\u00e9ctrico no se elimine. Puede continuar hasta que se dispare un dispositivo m\u00e1s arriba, como el alimentador en el Panel de distribuci\u00f3n principal (MDP). Una situaci\u00f3n similar puede ocurrir si el arco el\u00e9ctrico se origina en el lado de la l\u00ednea del dispositivo principal.<\/p><p>Debido a la incertidumbre sobre si el dispositivo principal interrumpir\u00eda y despejar\u00eda un arco el\u00e9ctrico, un enfoque com\u00fan es considerar el tiempo de despeje de un dispositivo fuera del \u00e1rea que podr\u00eda verse afectada por el arco el\u00e9ctrico. Este ser\u00eda un dispositivo en un gabinete separado, como el alimentador ubicado en MDP.<\/p><p>En el caso de equipos tales como tableros de distribuci\u00f3n revestidos de metal, donde los dispositivos est\u00e1n ubicados en compartimentos individuales, se debe utilizar el criterio de ingenier\u00eda al considerar si la l\u00ednea principal no se ver\u00eda afectada por un arco el\u00e9ctrico en un alimentador.<\/p><h2><strong>Determinaci\u00f3n de la duraci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h2><p>La determinaci\u00f3n del tiempo de desconexi\u00f3n del dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n depende de la caracter\u00edstica de disparo del dispositivo, as\u00ed como de la magnitud de la corriente de arco. Como m\u00ednimo, los dispositivos de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente tendr\u00e1n dos caracter\u00edsticas de disparo distintas. La regi\u00f3n de sobrecarga, que proporciona un retardo de tiempo para corrientes de menor magnitud, y la regi\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea, que se disparar\u00e1 para corrientes de mayor magnitud. En el mundo de la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica, el t\u00e9rmino &quot;instant\u00e1neo&quot; significa que no hay un retardo de tiempo intencional. Existe un retardo no intencional de hasta varios ciclos el\u00e9ctricos, que es el tiempo que tarda el dispositivo en abrirse f\u00edsicamente y despejar el arco el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p><p>El tipo de dispositivo, como si se trata de un disyuntor de caja moldeada o de disparo electr\u00f3nico, fusibles limitadores de corriente y si tiene configuraciones ajustables, todo ayuda a definir la caracter\u00edstica de disparo. Adem\u00e1s, el estado de mantenimiento del dispositivo es importante. Si un dispositivo es antiguo y no se mantiene adecuadamente, \u00bffuncionar\u00e1 como se espera? Tal vez no, lo que podr\u00eda dar lugar a una mayor duraci\u00f3n del arco. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p><h2><strong>Demasiado largo \u2013 Dos segundos<\/strong><\/h2><p>Si la corriente de cortocircuito que produce el arco es de una magnitud menor, como ocurre con impedancias m\u00e1s altas de conductores largos o transformadores m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os, el an\u00e1lisis del dispositivo puede indicar que puede dispararse en la regi\u00f3n de sobrecarga para el arco el\u00e9ctrico, lo que puede tardar varios segundos o m\u00e1s. En este caso, aunque la corriente m\u00e1s baja da como resultado un arco el\u00e9ctrico menos intenso, la duraci\u00f3n podr\u00eda dar lugar a una energ\u00eda incidente total mayor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Para los casos en los que hay tiempos de limpieza prolongados, la norma IEEE 1584 contiene un texto al que muchas personas denominan la \u201cregla de los 2 segundos\u201d. Aunque en realidad no es una regla, este texto permite limitar la duraci\u00f3n del arco utilizado en el c\u00e1lculo a 2 segundos. El texto real establece lo siguiente:<\/p><p><em>Si el tiempo total de desactivaci\u00f3n del dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n es superior a dos segundos (2 s), considere cu\u00e1nto tiempo es probable que una persona permanezca en el lugar del arco el\u00e9ctrico. Es probable que una persona expuesta a un arco el\u00e9ctrico se aleje r\u00e1pidamente si es f\u00edsicamente posible y 2 s suele ser una suposici\u00f3n razonable para la duraci\u00f3n del arco a fin de determinar la energ\u00eda incidente. <\/em><\/p><p>El lenguaje contiene advertencias como que la decisi\u00f3n de utilizar dos segundos requiere un criterio de ingenier\u00eda basado en la tarea, la ubicaci\u00f3n y la capacidad de la persona para alejarse. El concepto se basa en la reacci\u00f3n y respuesta humana. Si existe una amenaza, como un arco el\u00e9ctrico, la persona reacciona y responde autom\u00e1ticamente.
