La corriente de cortocircuito se determina realizando un estudio de cortocircuito que implica c\u00e1lculos exhaustivos. La duraci\u00f3n normalmente se define determinando cu\u00e1nto tarda un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente aguas arriba, como un disyuntor o un fusible, en funcionar y eliminar el arco el\u00e9ctrico. Se analizan las curvas de tiempo-corriente del dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n para calcular la duraci\u00f3n. Reconociendo la importancia de estas variables, se realizaron tres cambios significativos en el NEC 2017.<\/p><h3><strong>110.16(B) Advertencia de peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico en equipos de servicio<\/strong><\/h3><p>La norma 110.16, Advertencia de peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico, se dividi\u00f3 en dos secciones: General y Equipo de servicio. El texto original de la edici\u00f3n de 2014, sobre la advertencia de peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico en el campo o en la f\u00e1brica, se encuentra ahora en la norma 110.16(A), General. Esto incluye los requisitos de etiquetado para advertir a las personas calificadas sobre el peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico. Se hace referencia a la norma NFPA 70E para proporcionar orientaci\u00f3n para desarrollar etiquetas de arco el\u00e9ctrico, que incluyen la lista del voltaje nominal del sistema, los niveles de energ\u00eda incidente, los l\u00edmites de arco el\u00e9ctrico y los niveles m\u00ednimos requeridos de equipo de protecci\u00f3n personal (EPP) para la protecci\u00f3n contra arco el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p><p>Si el equipo no tiene una etiqueta que proporcione esta informaci\u00f3n necesaria para determinar el EPP adecuado para arcos el\u00e9ctricos, se pueden utilizar las categor\u00edas de EPP para arcos el\u00e9ctricos de la Tabla 130.7(C)(15)(A)(b) y 130.7(C)(15)(B) de la norma NFPA 70E. Estas tablas enumeran los tipos de equipos y un EPP m\u00ednimo asociado. Para cada listado en las tablas, la categor\u00eda de EPP tambi\u00e9n contiene \u201cpar\u00e1metros\u201d, que incluyen la corriente m\u00e1xima de cortocircuito y el tiempo m\u00e1ximo de eliminaci\u00f3n de fallas permitido para la categor\u00eda espec\u00edfica. A veces, la informaci\u00f3n necesaria para evaluar los par\u00e1metros puede no estar disponible, lo que puede dificultar el uso de las tablas de categor\u00edas de EPP.<\/p><p>Para abordar esta situaci\u00f3n, se agreg\u00f3 un nuevo requisito, 110.16(B) Advertencia de peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico: equipo de servicio. Se aplica a equipos de servicio con una potencia nominal de 1200 amperios (A) o m\u00e1s que se instalen en unidades que no sean viviendas y requiere, adem\u00e1s de los requisitos de 110.16(A), una etiqueta permanente que se debe aplicar en el campo o en la f\u00e1brica.<\/p><p>La etiqueta del equipo de servicio debe cumplir con los requisitos 110.21(B) y contener lo siguiente:<\/p><ul><li>Tensi\u00f3n nominal del sistema<\/li><li>Corriente de falla disponible en los dispositivos de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente de servicio<\/li><li>El tiempo de despeje de los dispositivos de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente de servicio en funci\u00f3n de la corriente de falla disponible en el equipo de servicio<\/li><li>La fecha en que se aplic\u00f3 la etiqueta.<\/li><\/ul><p>Si se aplica una etiqueta de arco el\u00e9ctrico de acuerdo con pr\u00e1cticas industriales aceptables, como NFPA 70E, que incluir\u00eda una lista de la energ\u00eda incidente, el l\u00edmite del arco el\u00e9ctrico y otros detalles, entonces no se requiere el etiquetado del equipo de servicio.<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_897\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-897\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brainfiller.com\/es\/producto\/complete-guide-to-arc-flash-hazard-calculation-studies\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-897 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/brainfiller.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ArcFlashBook-Square-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brainfiller.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ArcFlashBook-Square-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/brainfiller.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ArcFlashBook-Square-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brainfiller.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ArcFlashBook-Square-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-897\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a1COMPRAR AHORA!<\/figcaption><\/figure><h3><strong>240.87 Reducci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda de arco (disyuntores)<\/strong><\/h3><p>Normalmente, los dispositivos de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente con valores nominales de corriente continua m\u00e1s altos requieren una mayor corriente para activar su funci\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea. Al funcionar sin un retardo de tiempo intencional, la funci\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea puede reducir significativamente la duraci\u00f3n del arco el\u00e9ctrico, lo que da como resultado una energ\u00eda de arco (incidente) m\u00e1s baja. Sin embargo, si la corriente de falla del arco no es de magnitud suficiente, la funci\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea no se activar\u00eda, lo que har\u00eda que el dispositivo funcione en su modo de retardo de tiempo y probablemente genere un mayor peligro.<\/p><p>Se debe proporcionar un m\u00e9todo para reducir la energ\u00eda del arco cuando el ajuste de disparo de corriente continua m\u00e1s alto para el cual el dispositivo de sobrecorriente real instalado en un disyuntor est\u00e1 clasificado o se puede ajustar a 1200 A o m\u00e1s. El NEC de 2014 enumer\u00f3 anteriormente m\u00e9todos para reducir el tiempo de despeje y la energ\u00eda del arco resultante, como el enclavamiento selectivo por zonas, los rel\u00e9s diferenciales, la conmutaci\u00f3n de mantenimiento que reduce la energ\u00eda y los sistemas de mitigaci\u00f3n activa que reducen la energ\u00eda.<\/p><p>El NEC 2017 ampl\u00eda esta lista y permite el uso de la unidad de disparo instant\u00e1neo o la anulaci\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea del dispositivo para la reducci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda del arco, siempre que haya suficiente corriente de cortocircuito por arco para que se dispare. La norma IEEE 1584, Gu\u00eda IEEE para realizar c\u00e1lculos de riesgo de arco el\u00e9ctrico, se menciona como un m\u00e9todo para calcular la corriente de cortocircuito por arco el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p><p>\u201cCorriente de cortocircuito de arco\u201d (Electrical Contractor, marzo de 2016), ilustra c\u00f3mo realizar c\u00e1lculos de cortocircuito de arco.<\/p><h3><strong>240.67 Reducci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda del arco (fusibles)<\/strong><\/h3><p>Este nuevo lenguaje para fusibles requiere reducir el tiempo de despeje cuando un fusible tiene una capacidad nominal de 1200 A o superior con un tiempo de despeje de falla mayor a 0,07 segundos para la corriente de cortocircuito de arco disponible.
