Para muchos, esta situaci\u00f3n significar\u00eda restablecer r\u00e1pidamente el disyuntor y &quot;ver qu\u00e9 pasa&quot;. No es la mejor idea; es necesario plantearse la pregunta: \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 se dispar\u00f3 el disyuntor? Esta situaci\u00f3n puede convertirse en un problema a\u00fan mayor si el disyuntor tiene ajustes de configuraci\u00f3n. Antes de continuar, retrocedamos unos pasos.<\/p><h3><strong>Disyuntores ajustables<\/strong><\/h3><p>Muchos disyuntores tienen ajustes de configuraci\u00f3n que se pueden usar para definir c\u00f3mo responde el dispositivo a las corrientes de cortocircuito. Los disyuntores ajustables, como m\u00ednimo, tendr\u00e1n un ajuste instant\u00e1neo ajustable que define el nivel de corriente en el que se disparar\u00e1 sin demora intencional, es decir, disparo instant\u00e1neo. Si la corriente anormal excede este nivel de corriente, el dispositivo se dispara instant\u00e1neamente; si la corriente es menor que este nivel, se disparar\u00e1 en la regi\u00f3n de demora de tiempo o sobrecarga.<\/p><p>Otros dispositivos m\u00e1s complejos, como los interruptores electr\u00f3nicos y los disyuntores digitales, pueden tener una multitud de configuraciones que se utilizan para definir una caracter\u00edstica de disparo elaborada. El m\u00e9todo preferido para determinar las configuraciones de estos dispositivos es realizar un estudio de coordinaci\u00f3n. Esto requiere que se analicen los diversos dispositivos de protecci\u00f3n del sistema el\u00e9ctrico para determinar c\u00f3mo deben configurarse de modo que solo el dispositivo que se encuentre m\u00e1s aguas abajo y m\u00e1s cerca de la carga se dispare en caso de una corriente anormal. Esto permite que los dem\u00e1s dispositivos que se encuentran cerca de la fuente permanezcan cerrados y da como resultado la m\u00ednima cantidad de interrupci\u00f3n del suministro el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p><p>Sin embargo, existe otro objetivo y es garantizar que el dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n responda con la suficiente rapidez para proporcionar una protecci\u00f3n adecuada a los conductores, transformadores, motores y otros equipos el\u00e9ctricos. Los ajustes recomendados deben tener en cuenta tanto la coordinaci\u00f3n selectiva <em>y<\/em> protecci\u00f3n.<\/p><h3><strong>Cambiar la configuraci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h3><p>Como se mencion\u00f3, cuando se dispara un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n, a menudo la primera reacci\u00f3n es simplemente reiniciarlo y ver qu\u00e9 sucede. La mayor\u00eda de las veces, si un disyuntor se dispar\u00f3 una vez, probablemente se disparar\u00e1 nuevamente porque simplemente reiniciarlo no resolvi\u00f3 la causa ra\u00edz del problema. La segunda vez que se dispara el dispositivo, muchas personas &quot;experimentadas&quot; aumentar\u00e1n el ajuste pensando que se dispar\u00f3 porque el ajuste era demasiado bajo y sin considerar por qu\u00e9 se dispar\u00f3. Cambiar el ajuste de un dispositivo sin un an\u00e1lisis adecuado de su impacto podr\u00eda reducir la coordinaci\u00f3n selectiva con otros dispositivos y, muy posiblemente, reducir el nivel de protecci\u00f3n.<\/p><h3><strong>Consecuencias no deseadas: peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico<\/strong><\/h3><p>Aumentar la configuraci\u00f3n de un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n puede crear un problema potencialmente mayor y m\u00e1s peligroso: \u00a1aumentar el peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico! Seg\u00fan la corriente de cortocircuito que pueda fluir durante un arco el\u00e9ctrico, aumentar la configuraci\u00f3n de un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n puede hacer que el dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n tarde m\u00e1s en activarse durante un arco el\u00e9ctrico. La cantidad de energ\u00eda incidente de un arco el\u00e9ctrico es directamente proporcional a la duraci\u00f3n, que se define por el tiempo que tarda un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n en funcionar. Un aumento en la configuraci\u00f3n del dispositivo no garantiza que tarde m\u00e1s en funcionar, pero podr\u00eda suceder. Es necesario realizar un an\u00e1lisis detallado del efecto que tiene el cambio de configuraci\u00f3n del disyuntor en el peligro de arco el\u00e9ctrico para saberlo con certeza.<\/p><p>A modo de ejemplo, supongamos que la energ\u00eda incidente calculada es de 5,4 calor\u00edas\/cent\u00edmetro.<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0(calor\u00edas\/cm<sup>2<\/sup>) y el dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n tarda 3 ciclos el\u00e9ctricos (3\/60 de segundo) en funcionar. Si un cambio de configuraci\u00f3n hace que el dispositivo tarde ahora 15 ciclos (15\/60 de segundo) en funcionar, la energ\u00eda incidente aumentar\u00eda en un factor de cinco a 27 cal\/cm<sup>2<\/sup>!<\/p><p>El impacto de la configuraci\u00f3n del dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n en el riesgo de arco el\u00e9ctrico es tan importante que <strong>M\u00e9todo de an\u00e1lisis de energ\u00eda incidente NPFA 70E 130.5(G)<\/strong> requiere que la evaluaci\u00f3n del riesgo de arco el\u00e9ctrico \u201c<em>Se deben tener en cuenta las caracter\u00edsticas del dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n contra sobrecorriente y su tiempo de eliminaci\u00f3n de fallas.<\/em>&quot; y &quot;<em>Se actualizar\u00e1 cuando se produzcan cambios en el sistema de distribuci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica que puedan afectar los resultados del an\u00e1lisis.<\/em>\u201d Adem\u00e1s, el \u201c<em>El an\u00e1lisis de energ\u00eda incidente tambi\u00e9n deber\u00e1 revisarse para verificar su precisi\u00f3n a intervalos que no excedan los 5 a\u00f1os.<\/em>\u201dEsto es para tener en cuenta los cambios que pueden incluir configuraciones de dispositivos de protecci\u00f3n que pueden afectar los resultados de la evaluaci\u00f3n del riesgo de arco el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p><h3><strong>\u00a1No!<\/strong><\/h3><p>Por lo tanto, si se dispara un disyuntor, no lo restablezca hasta que descubra por qu\u00e9 se dispar\u00f3. No porque yo lo diga, sino porque as\u00ed lo dice la norma NFPA 70E. Seg\u00fan la edici\u00f3n 2018 de la norma NFPA 70E:<\/p><p><strong><em>130.6(M) Recierre de circuitos despu\u00e9s de la operaci\u00f3n del dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n:<\/em><\/strong><em> Despu\u00e9s de que un circuito se desactive mediante la operaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica de un dispositivo de protecci\u00f3n de circuitos, el circuito no se deber\u00e1 volver a activar manualmente hasta que se haya determinado que el equipo y el circuito se pueden activar de manera segura. Se prohibir\u00e1 el cierre manual repetitivo de disyuntores o circuitos activados nuevamente mediante el reemplazo de fusibles. Cuando se determine a partir del dise\u00f1o del circuito y de los dispositivos de sobrecorriente involucrados que la operaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica de un dispositivo fue causada por una sobrecarga en lugar de una condici\u00f3n de falla, no se requerir\u00e1 el examen del circuito o del equipo conectado antes de que se vuelva a activar el circuito.<\/em><\/p><p>Si finalmente realiza un cambio de configuraci\u00f3n, revise su impacto no solo en la protecci\u00f3n y la coordinaci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n en la energ\u00eda incidente calculada, porque la pr\u00f3xima vez que se active, \u00a1podr\u00eda haber un BOOM muy grande!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t Automatically Reset a Circuit Breaker that Trips!: The circuit breaker just tripped.
