Adem\u00e1s de ser director asociado de Electrical Safety UK y fundador de Brainfiller.com, Jim tambi\u00e9n es vicepresidente de IEEE 1584 y presidente internacional de IEC TC 78 \u2013 Trabajo en vivo.<\/p><p>A modo de introducci\u00f3n, la IEEE 1584 \u2013 Gu\u00eda IEEE para realizar c\u00e1lculos de riesgo de arco el\u00e9ctrico se public\u00f3 por primera vez en 2002 y es la norma que define las ecuaciones y los m\u00e9todos utilizados en muchos de los paquetes de software que se utilizan para las evaluaciones de riesgo de arco el\u00e9ctrico. La segunda edici\u00f3n se public\u00f3 a fines de 2018 y es un verdadero punto de inflexi\u00f3n. Jim ser\u00e1 el orador principal en la pr\u00f3xima Conferencia Internacional sobre Arco El\u00e9ctrico el martes 24 de septiembre de 2019 en Manchester.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> Una pregunta que muchos de nosotros tenemos es \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 tard\u00f3 16 a\u00f1os en publicar la segunda edici\u00f3n de esta norma?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> Ha sido un largo viaje. La cronolog\u00eda tuvo muchas fases durante este proyecto \u00e9pico. Los primeros a\u00f1os se dedicaron a desarrollar un plan de pruebas y a recaudar dinero de los contribuyentes para este enorme (y costoso) proyecto. A esto le siguieron pruebas preliminares que llamamos &quot;Pruebas de exploraci\u00f3n&quot;. Estas se utilizaron para ayudar a definir la direcci\u00f3n de todo el programa de pruebas.<\/p><p>Despu\u00e9s de las pruebas preliminares, el equipo del proyecto tard\u00f3 varios a\u00f1os m\u00e1s en completar las pruebas principales de arco el\u00e9ctrico y desarrollar el nuevo modelo. Esa fase de pruebas se complet\u00f3 en 2012 e incluy\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 1800 nuevas pruebas de arco el\u00e9ctrico. Todo un logro. La edici\u00f3n de 2002 de la norma se bas\u00f3 en alrededor de 300 pruebas.<\/p><p>Despu\u00e9s de la fase de prueba y desarrollo del modelo, el grupo de trabajo IEEE 1584 cre\u00f3 un grupo de trabajo de revisi\u00f3n del modelo para revisar y validar el nuevo modelo. Esto llev\u00f3 varios a\u00f1os m\u00e1s de esfuerzo. Durante ese tiempo, hubo muchos ajustes para mejorar a\u00fan m\u00e1s la precisi\u00f3n. Lo completamos todo en 2016, cuando lleg\u00f3 el momento del proceso de votaci\u00f3n formal. Un dato interesante al margen: el nuevo est\u00e1ndar fue aprobado en la primera votaci\u00f3n; todos quedamos asombrados. Sin embargo, tambi\u00e9n hubo m\u00e1s de 1000 comentarios de los participantes que tuvimos que abordar. No hace falta decir que esto llev\u00f3 alg\u00fan tiempo resolverlo. La segunda edici\u00f3n de este est\u00e1ndar hist\u00f3rico finalmente se public\u00f3 el 30 de noviembre de 2019.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfQu\u00e9 ha cambiado con la edici\u00f3n de 2018?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> <em>(risas)<\/em>En realidad, es m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil responder a la pregunta &quot;\u00bfQu\u00e9 no ha cambiado?&quot;. El est\u00e1ndar sigue teniendo el mismo t\u00edtulo. Con solo unas pocas excepciones, casi todo lo dem\u00e1s es muy diferente. Esto significa que lo que sab\u00edas anteriormente sobre el est\u00e1ndar IEEE 1584 puede descartarse.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfCu\u00e1l es el cambio m\u00e1s grande?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> Esa es f\u00e1cil. La introducci\u00f3n de configuraciones de electrodos. La edici\u00f3n de 2002 ten\u00eda solo dos configuraciones: 1) un arco el\u00e9ctrico en un recinto y 2) un arco el\u00e9ctrico al aire libre. Ambas se basaban en los electrodos de prueba en una configuraci\u00f3n vertical.<\/p><p>Ahora hay cinco configuraciones de electrodos diferentes: electrodos verticales en un recinto (VCB) y en el aire (VOA), que son los mismos que en el est\u00e1ndar de 2002, pero tambi\u00e9n tenemos electrodos horizontales en un recinto (HCB) y en el aire (HOA) y electrodos verticales en un recinto que termina en una barrera aislante (VCBB). La idea es que las nuevas configuraciones proporcionen una mayor flexibilidad para modelar equipos reales.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfC\u00f3mo afecta esto a la evaluaci\u00f3n de riesgos?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> Seg\u00fan el lugar donde se produzca el arco el\u00e9ctrico y el tipo de equipo, la orientaci\u00f3n de los electrodos puede afectar la trayectoria del plasma y la energ\u00eda incidente que llega al trabajador. En la edici\u00f3n 2018 de la norma se ofrecen algunas orientaciones.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfSupongo que habr\u00e1 otros grandes cambios?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> S\u00ed. Existen ajustes para diferentes tama\u00f1os de recintos. El tama\u00f1o del recinto puede tener un efecto considerable en la energ\u00eda incidente. Si se produce un arco el\u00e9ctrico en un recinto m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, la energ\u00eda del arco est\u00e1 m\u00e1s concentrada, lo que hace que llegue m\u00e1s energ\u00eda incidente al trabajador. Si el recinto es m\u00e1s grande, la energ\u00eda no est\u00e1 tan concentrada y llega menos energ\u00eda al trabajador. Como resultado, las pruebas incluyeron nuevos tama\u00f1os de recintos y el desarrollo de un factor de correcci\u00f3n del tama\u00f1o del recinto para los c\u00e1lculos.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfAlgo m\u00e1s?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> La norma ahora utiliza interpolaci\u00f3n y extrapolaci\u00f3n para ajustar los resultados y brindar una mayor precisi\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n hay un nuevo c\u00e1lculo m\u00e1s detallado para determinar la corriente de arco m\u00ednima durante un arco el\u00e9ctrico. La norma anterior simplemente utilizaba un valor fijo del 85 por ciento para determinar el m\u00ednimo.<\/p><p>Las nuevas ecuaciones son mucho m\u00e1s complejas e incluyen un polinomio de grado trece con trece coeficientes que se seleccionan en funci\u00f3n del voltaje y la configuraci\u00f3n de los electrodos (espero no haber asustado a nadie con ese comentario). La buena noticia es que el software se encarga de las matem\u00e1ticas dif\u00edciles por nosotros. La lista de cambios contin\u00faa.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfC\u00f3mo afecta todo esto a los resultados de estudios anteriores?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> He elaborado una serie de hojas de trabajo que utilizo para ilustrar los c\u00e1lculos y compararlos con la edici\u00f3n de 2002. Algunos resultados de los c\u00e1lculos son similares a los de 2002, pero otros pueden ser bastante diferentes. Esto tiene mucho que ver con la configuraci\u00f3n de los electrodos y otros factores, como el tama\u00f1o del gabinete.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> \u00bfEsto cambia la forma en que se selecciona la ropa y el EPP con protecci\u00f3n contra arcos el\u00e9ctricos?<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> El proceso general de evaluaci\u00f3n de riesgos es el mismo que antes, es decir, se seleccionan prendas y equipos de protecci\u00f3n personal con clasificaci\u00f3n de arco con una clasificaci\u00f3n de arco suficiente para la energ\u00eda incidente calculada. Sin embargo, la diferencia est\u00e1 en los c\u00e1lculos de energ\u00eda incidente utilizando IEEE 1584. Los c\u00e1lculos y el modelado han cambiado dr\u00e1sticamente.<\/p><p>La ropa de protecci\u00f3n contra arcos el\u00e9ctricos se basa en las normas IEC 61482-1-1 e IEC 61482-2. Tambi\u00e9n existen otras normas IEC para la protecci\u00f3n contra arcos el\u00e9ctricos. Estas normas son del Comit\u00e9 IEC TC 78, que cuenta con un grupo de expertos con gran conocimiento y talento de todo el mundo que trabajan para desarrollar y mantener normas de productos para una mayor seguridad de los trabajadores.<\/p><p><strong>De radio:<\/strong> Esperamos escuchar m\u00e1s sobre la edici\u00f3n 2018 de IEEE 1584 el 24 de septiembre en la pr\u00f3xima Conferencia Internacional sobre Arco El\u00e9ctrico en Manchester.<\/p><p><strong>es:<\/strong> \u00a1Gracias Becky!
