Anybody more familiar with SKM than myself that could help me locate a library, or download a library for overhead cables? I've got some long runs I'm calculating for a medium voltage system arc flash study for an existing system. My overhead wires are run in parallel un-insulated in the air spaced about 2 feet apart. I'm running about 24.9kV in some places and 8.32kV in others. Any cable advice I can plug into skm to model this? I'm also open to other software recommendations if there's something out there more geared towards overhead transmission.

SKM and well as the other software has provisions for overhead wire/cable. There is no "library" because the impedance is affected by the line spacing and distance from the ground. SKM has a very simple method for entering the info but the info must be known.

Ricky,

Have you had any luck with this? If you need a hand with filling in the information you can probably post a couple of pictures here and we can help you out.
