Last week's "Question of the Week" was:
What has been your experience with non electrical workers such as HVAC techs regarding NFPA 70E/CSA Z462? Over 80 percent of the responses were that people were either being ignoring these standards or have not heard of them.
As a follow up, here is this week’s question: What do you think is the reason that non-electrical workers facing electrical hazards do not comply with NFPA 70E/CSA Z462? Select all that apply- Lack of management support
- Lack of enforcement / fines
- Lack of awareness
- Lack of training
- Lack of time
- Something else
I think it is mostly a combination of lack of awareness and lack of training. I am not sure whether it would be lack of lack of management support or lackk of management awareness.
Although I would bet a fine would certainly heighten awareness a great deal.
