The Excel calculators are available for free at https://standards.ieee.org/content/dam/ieee-standards/standards/web/download/1584-2018_downloads.zip. I couldn't find the test data produced by the IEEE/NFPA Collaborative. That was helpful as part of IEEE 1584-2002. Does anyone know if that will be available? Thanks! As you know it was a massive undertaking involving literally a few hundred people over the years. Glad you were an integral part of it all. Yes it is quite expensive (I had nothing to do with that ). I don't know of any plans for test data etc. Pretty sure like the 2002 Edition, it will take a while for the industry to absorb all of this.

No, since it should be included in our P&E subscription.

List price is "only" $784 for the PDF version (cheapest). That's only up what $184 over the previous 2002 edition? Over that many years I guess it's really not that much of an increase percentage wise year over year. Then again the 2002 edition was extremely high priced and in comparison this version isn't really that much higher.

It is bothersome to me, to be a paying member of IEEE for many decades, and yet have to pay for these standards.
Also it is bothersome to me, that if a standard becomes adopted as what acts like a government requirement, to have to pay for these standards.
Finally, it is bothersome to me that many industry advocates influence these standards heavily in the direction of their product (moreso NFPA 70 than NFPA 70E) yet we have to pay for the standards.

My company has a copy of P1584â„¢/D6 Draft Guide for Performing Arc-Flash Hazard Calculations.
Before buying the 2nd Edition of IEEE 1584, I would like to know what the differences are between these two publications.
Would someone please help?

Would someone please help? SKM told me that there were no changes from P1584 D6 for the official release, as they developed the software based on that draft and it's applicable to the standard. I too have the draft 6 copy and don't plan to spend $800 for the official release, at least at this time.

I just checked, and the IEEE member price for the PDF version is $596, $745 for non-members. I guess two standards a year and you have your IEEE membership paid. And the price has gone UP? Sometime in the last 7 days (between the time that I submitted a purchase request to my company and now that I am approved to purchase it) it's gone up to $613 for members now? Anyone know what's up with that?

I'm trying to get this, but I receive an error 404. If not, can someone send to me the file, please? I was doing myself an excel calculation based on the standard, but knowing that this file exist and is free, I wanted to see if it suits me and avoid a time doing this.

I've put the copy of draft 6 I"ve purchased before to the hopefully good cause by deploying Arc Flash Analytic version 6.0 software and universal web app for arc flash analysis.
