Proud Partner of Electrical Safety UK, Ltd. Rotherham (Sheffield), England

For nearly two decades, I have been closely associated with the UK’s—and Europe’s—foremost authority on arc flash and electrical safety: Electrical Safety UK (ESUK). Based in Rotherham (Sheffield), England, ESUK has been at the forefront of advancing electrical safety practices for over twenty years. I have had the privilege of contributing to this journey from its early days and continue to serve on the company’s board.

My association with ESUK began close to its inception, when its founder, Mr. Mike Frain, CEng FIET MCMI, recognized a critical and largely unmet need: greater awareness, understanding, and practical solutions for arc flash hazards—not only in the UK, but across Europe. Together, Mike and I co-authored several pioneering articles and technical papers that helped raise—and in many cases introduce—awareness of arc flash risks and the importance of improved electrical safety practices throughout the UK and Europe, often in the face of skepticism toward this emerging discipline.

Today, those early efforts have fully come to fruition. What began as a small seed of innovation and education has grown into a robust and influential organization—a proverbial oak in the field of electrical safety—with ESUK firmly leading the way.
